Founded in 2014, our client is now at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, operating in multiple countries including France, the UK and wider European union. They boast nine offices strategically located in these regions. As they continue to grow and expand our reach, we are seeking a dedicated HSE Manager to join their Engineering and Operations department and contribute to their vision of sustainable and clean energy solutions.

The Role

As our clients HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring health and safety across the wind and solar farm sites. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits at wind and solar farm sites across Europe and potentially Africa (Senegal), involving occasional travel to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Prepare comprehensive information reports and accurately input relevant data into IT tools for analysis and record-keeping purposes
  • Champion a culture of health and safety within the organisation by raising awareness and effectively communicating the importance of safe practices at work
  • Oversee the day-to-day health and safety management of the company and its solar and wind farms, encompassing safety device maintenance on wind turbines, PPE management, staff training, subcontractor monitoring, incident management, and HSE support for technical teams
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including managing documents such as DUER, prevention plans, and internal and external relations, while staying informed about legal and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate closely with our clients technical operations managers and work collaboratively to improve HSE processes and initiatives
  • Manage invoicing processes, both computerised and paper-based, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company protocols
  • Demonstrate expertise in legal aspects related to health, safety, and environmental standards, including mastery of the ICPE 2003 decree, labour code, and environmental legislation
  • Efficiently manage the company’s HSE documentation, ensuring proper maintenance and organization of both French and English documents

Your profile, Experience & Qualifications

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Hygiene, Safety, Environment, with a valuable experience of 3 to 5 years in the field of Safety, Health, and Environment (HSE)
  • Prior experience in waste management is crucial, with knowledge of REACH and CMR being highly appreciated
  • Possess relevant certifications such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Fluent in French and English, with strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively in an intercultural environment
  • Demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, effective task prioritisation, time management skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Showcase excellent writing and expression skills
