The Role

  • To assist the lead mechanical engineer with the mechanical installation of renewable energy systems, such as ground-source and air-source heat pumps
  • Work as part of a two-person installation team, under the direction of a lead heating engineer
  • Work on a mixture of properties, from larger domestic manor house properties to higher-end commercial jobs
  • Work in various roles – pipe fitting, lagging, filling, heat pumps, boiler systems including fuel stores, ventilation, flues, groundworks, manifolds, and chambers
  • Work with copper pipe (all sizes,) steel pipe (28mm+) and MDE pipe (63mm+.)
  • Before going to site, liaise with the project manager to plan what equipment, tools parts and programme/time information is needed for a project’s electrical installation.
